RSSThe King Has Returned
December 2nd, 2003 Posted in Activities, CultureI attended The Return of the King World Premiere celebration in Wellington on December 1, 2003. Most of the main stars were present, including Liv Tyler, Elijah Wood, Ian McKellan, Orlando Bloom, Hugo Weaving, Sean Astin, Sean Bean, Billy Boyd, Viggo Mortensen, Andy Serkis, John Rhys-Davies, Dominic Monaghan, and of course, Peter Jackson.
The focal point of the event was a street parade with all the major cast members, so it was quite the experience to stand within 10 feet of them and see them live. I got quite a few pictures, which I will upload at a later point. Today I went to a few museums that are showing some of Viggo’s photographs, and some of them are quite good. This was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will treasure the rest of my life. Beyond that, I get to see, to live in, the city that they loved so much, Wellington, and to live in it as well. Now, bring on the movie!!!
