Playing Disc Golf in Middle-Earth

December 14th, 2003 Posted in Activities, Lodging

For those of you not familiar with Disc Golf, it’s similar to golf, except we use frisbees, and throw it into baskets (on the nicer courses) or hit poles (on the simpler courses). I just played disc golf in New Zealand for the first time, at Harcourt Park. It felt good to play again. And when I said I played in Middle-Earth, I don’t just mean New Zealand. They shot a few scenes at Harcourt Park, and I was able to walk in the midst of those locations…not that you could really tell.

In other news, I got a flat!!! In American terminology, that means an apartment. It feels really good to have a home, makes me feel more settled. That way, I actually get to know the people I’m staying with. Hostels are cool in that you meet people every day that are passing through, from all over the world. So, I’m glad I’ll be making some friends now.
